Students for Solar is a student-led community group whose focus is to both advocate for and implement solar technologies on campus. It is the principle of this club that utilizing clean-energy technologies, such as solar energy, is of paramount importance to NC State University in its efforts to achieve climate neutrality by its targeted date. The objectives of Students for Solar include, but are not limited to: Participate in research to pave the way for new solar energy on campus, advocating for renewable energy sources in and around campus, gathering new and pertinent information on solar technologies, making aforementioned information available to the student body, promoting the use of solar energy on campus over more highly polluting alternatives, encourage the use of solar in new buildings on campus, promoting LEED certification in conjunction with this goal, making solar technologies readily available to the student body, become an active collaborator in the growing network of green-minded organizations on campus and encourage the integration of solar technologies in coursework on campus.
